June to September

The monsoon brings heavy rain, high humidity and the occasional flooded road. The landscape is at its greenest, but long drives and the steps at Unakoti become harder. Kharchi Puja is held in July. Check weather updates before travelling.

When Is Agartala Most Crowded?

Agartala is busiest during Durga Puja and Diwali, when the Tripura Sundari Temple holds a large fair, and during the winter holidays in December and January. Hotels fill up and the temple queues grow.
