Best Month to Visit Bengaluru

November to February

This is the most comfortable time of year, with clear skies, pleasant days and cool mornings. It is ideal for park walks and sightseeing. Visit in the second half of January to catch the Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh, and in mid-January for Makar Sankranti at Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple.

March to May

The warmest months. Afternoons can be hot, with highs often in the low to mid 30s °C in April, but evenings are usually bearable. The Karaga festival usually falls in March or April. Plan outdoor visits for the morning and evening.

June to August

The rains arrive, the heat eases and the parks turn green. Showers are often heavy but short. The Independence Day flower show at Lalbagh usually runs for about 12 days around 15 August.

September and October

Often the wettest months, with heavy evening downpours that can flood roads and slow traffic. The rain usually eases by the end of October, when the weather becomes cooler.

When Is Bengaluru Most Crowded?

Bengaluru's sights are busiest at weekends and on public holidays, when locals head to the parks, malls and temples. Lalbagh is packed during the flower shows, especially at weekends, and ISKCON gets very busy on Janmashtami.

Road traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and evenings. For a smoother trip, visit the big sights on weekday mornings and use the metro during rush hour.
