Best time to visit Dwarka
The best time to visit Dwarka is from October to March, when the days are dry and sunny and the evenings are comfortable. December to February is the most pleasant stretch, with daytime highs of about 26–29 °C and cool mornings that make early darshan easy.
Dwarka sits on the sea, so it rarely gets as hot as inland Gujarat, but April to June is humid and sticky, and the monsoon from July to September brings rough seas and high waves. Many pilgrims plan around festivals rather than the weather, especially Janmashtami in August or September, the busiest time of the year.
❄️ Winter
RecommendedOct – Mar
Hot in October and November, then warm days and cool, breezy evenings from December to February — the most comfortable months, with the calmest sea.

Plan a winter day →☀️ Summer
Apr – Jun
Hot and humid, though the sea breeze keeps it in the low-to-mid 30s °C — easier than inland Gujarat, if sticky.
Pack: light cottons, a hat and sunscreen.
Plan a summer day →🌧️ Monsoon
Jul – Sep
Moderate rain, mostly in July and August, and a rough, windy sea that is off-limits for bathing — boats can stop running.

October and November
The monsoon is over and the skies clear, but the days are still warm, often around 32 °C. Diwali and the Gujarati New Year usually fall in these months, bringing festive crowds and the Annakut offering at the Dwarkadhish Temple.
December to February
The coolest and most comfortable months. Days are sunny at around 26–29 °C, and early mornings can drop to about 16 °C, so carry a light layer for early darshan. This is peak season, and the clear skies make it the best time for photos and for Shivrajpur Beach.
March
The weather warms up but stays pleasant, and Holi is celebrated at the Dwarkadhish Temple. It is a good month for warm days before the summer humidity sets in.
April to June
Hot and humid rather than scorching, with highs of about 31–33 °C, warm nights and sticky air. Visit the temples early and late, and rest in the middle of the day. June can bring high waves, so stay back from the water at Gomti Ghat.
July to September
The monsoon brings short, heavy showers, strong winds and rough seas, although Dwarka gets much less rain than most of India. The countryside turns green, but high-wave warnings are common, so keep away from the water's edge. Janmashtami usually falls in August or September.
When Is Dwarka Most Crowded?
Dwarka is busiest at Janmashtami, when pilgrims arrive from across India for the midnight celebration of Krishna's birth, and rooms are hard to find. The Diwali holidays and the Gujarati New Year, Holi, long weekends and the school summer holidays also bring big crowds to the temple.
For a quieter trip, visit on weekdays between December and February and plan your darshan for the morning. See events and festivals in Dwarka to plan around the busiest dates.
