Best time to visit Kasol
The best time to visit Kasol is from March to June and from September to November, when the weather is mild and the trails to Tosh and Kheerganga are in good condition. Autumn often brings the clearest skies of the year.
The monsoon months of July and August bring heavy rain, and landslides can block the valley road, so it is the least reliable time to go. Winter is cold and quiet, with some cafés closed and snow on the higher trails.

March and April
The valley warms up after winter and the fruit trees start to flower. Nights are still cold, and there may be snow on the higher trails early in the season.
May and June
This is the busiest time of year. The days are warm, the treks are open and the cafés are full. Book stays early and expect traffic on the valley road at weekends.
July and August
The monsoon turns the forest deep green, but heavy rain brings slippery trails, landslides and road blocks. Check weather and road updates before you travel, and avoid treks after heavy rain.
September to November
The rain clears, the air turns crisp and the views of the peaks are often at their best. This is a good time for Tosh and Kheerganga. Nights get cold by November.
December to February
These are the coldest months. Kasol is quiet, many cafés close or shorten their hours, and snow can make the higher trails difficult or unsafe. Pack heavy winter clothing.
When Is Kasol Most Crowded?
Kasol is busiest from May to June, on long weekends and around New Year. Stays fill quickly, and the narrow road from Bhuntar can be slow.
For a quieter trip, visit in March–April or September–November, and start treks early in the day.
