Walk the whole path, as the view changes at each bend.

Stay behind the railings, as the slope below is very steep.

Carry a light jacket, as it gets cold and windy when the mist comes in.

About Coaker's Walk

Coaker's Walk is a paved path, about 1 km long, that runs along the edge of a steep slope on the southern side of Kodaikanal. It was built in 1872 by Lieutenant Coaker, a British officer, and it has been the town's favourite walk ever since.

On a clear morning the view opens up over the valleys and all the way to the plains below. On misty days, clouds drift up and over the path, and you may be walking above them. There is a small telescope house along the way for a closer look at the view.
