About Thusharagiri Falls

Thusharagiri Falls is about 50 km east of Kozhikode, in the forested foothills of the Western Ghats. Two streams meet here to form the Chalippuzha river, which drops over three waterfalls. The first and most visited is Erattumukku, and paths lead uphill through the forest to Mazhavil Chattam and Thumbithullum Para.

The name means "snow-capped mountain" in Malayalam, after the white spray of the water. The area is managed as an eco-tourism site, and the walk between the falls passes through forest and plantations. The rivers nearby are also used for the Malabar River Festival, a kayaking event usually held in the monsoon.
