Where to Eat in Nashik
Nashik restaurants fall into three groups: misal houses for breakfast, thali halls for lunch, and vineyard tables for the evening. Plan by time of day, because the misal places often shut by mid-afternoon.

Not sure what to order? The Nashik food guide starts from the dishes — what each one is, when to eat it, and which of these kitchens is known for it.
Misal on Gangapur Road
Sadhana Misal is one of the city's best-known misal houses. It is out on the Gangapur Road side near Someshwar, not in the old town, and it cooks on a wood fire, which locals call chulivarchi misal. It gets busy on weekend mornings and usually closes in the afternoon, so go early. It fits neatly on the way to Sula Vineyards, which lies further west.
Thali in the city
Hotel Panchavati in Vakil Wadi, in the central part of town, is a long-running thali restaurant; its thalis lean Gujarati and Rajasthani as well as Maharashtrian. Shakahari on College Road is a pure-veg dining room for Maharashtrian thalis and North Indian dishes, handy if you are staying in the newer part of the city. Both suit families and groups.
A meal at the vineyard
The Sula estate has its own restaurant and a tasting room. It is the easiest way to pair a meal with local wine and watch the sun go down over the vines. Weekend evenings are the busiest, so book a table and a tasting slot together.
Near the ghats
Around Ramkund you will find small stalls selling tea, poha, sabudana vada and sweets. They are good for a quick bite before the evening aarti. Look for places with steady local customers and food cooked in front of you.
Practical notes
Pure-veg restaurants are the norm here, which makes it easy for mixed groups. Tipping is not expected at small places but welcome at sit-down restaurants. Dry days apply to alcohol on some festival and election days across Maharashtra, and vineyards follow them too. For the dishes themselves, see the Nashik food guide.

What should I order in Nashik?
