Best time to visit Sringeri
The best time to visit Sringeri is from October to February, when the rain has cleared, mornings are cool and the hills are still green. It is the most comfortable time for temple visits and the trip out to Kigga and Sirimane Falls.
Sringeri sits in the Malnad, one of the wettest parts of Karnataka. From June to September the rain is heavy and can last for days, and the Tunga sometimes floods the riverside steps and parts of the town. Summer is warm and humid, but not as hot as the plains.

October and November
The monsoon eases, the hills are at their greenest and the waterfalls still have plenty of water. Navaratri usually falls in September or October and is the busiest time of the year.
December to February
These are the coolest and driest months, with misty mornings and pleasant days. It is the most comfortable time for walking around the town and visiting Kigga and Sirimane Falls.
March to May
The weather gets warm and humid, and the waterfalls slowly thin out. Mornings and evenings are still fine for temple visits. School holidays in April and May bring more families.
June to September
This is the monsoon, and it is very heavy in Sringeri. The countryside is lush, but rain can go on for days, roads can be blocked by fallen trees or landslides, and the Tunga can rise over the steps and flood low parts of the town. Check the weather and local news before you travel, and keep your plans flexible.
When Is Sringeri Most Crowded?
Sringeri is busiest during Navaratri (usually September or October), on long weekends and in the school holidays in April and May. Rooms near the temple fill quickly at these times, and the prasadam hall has long queues.
For a quieter visit, go on a weekday between November and February, and reach the temples soon after they open.
