Best time to visit Velankanni

The best time to visit Velankanni is from January to March, when the weather is dry and warm and the sea is usually calm. If you want to see the town at its most devoted, come for the annual feast from 29 August to 8 September, but be ready for huge crowds.

Velankanni's rainy season is different from most of India. The southwest monsoon mostly misses this coast, and the heavy rain comes with the northeast monsoon from October to December, when cyclones are also possible.
