About Pagoda Point

Pagoda Point, also called Pyramid Point, is a viewpoint on the eastern edge of the Yercaud hills, about 5 km from the town. It takes its name from piles of stones stacked into pyramid shapes that look like small temple towers, believed to have been built by the local tribal communities. A small Rama temple stands between them.

Because it faces east, Pagoda Point is the best place in Yercaud for sunrise, with wide views over the plains towards Attur and Ayothiyapattinam. It is also pleasant in the late afternoon, when the stone cairns catch warm light and the villages below begin to light up at dusk.
