Best time to visit Granada
Granada is best in Spring & Autumn, but each season has its own character. Here's what to expect, what to pack, and what shines — then build a day around it.
Granada splits cleanly into a comfortable half of the year and a punishing one. The gap between them is wide enough that the same itinerary is a pleasure in one and barely doable in the other.
On weather alone, spring and autumn is the window — which is also when prices and crowds peak, so the shoulder weeks either side are usually the better trade, especially for the 10 spots below that reward an early start.
🌸 Spring
RecommendedMar – May
Mild and bright, with everything open and the crowds still thin — one of the two best windows of the year.
Pack: layers you can shed by afternoon, and something rainproof.
Shines now: Mirador de San Nicolás

Jun – Aug
Warm to hot and the busiest, most expensive stretch of the year. Inland cities can get genuinely punishing in the afternoon.
Pack: light clothes, sun cover and a refillable water bottle.
Shines now: Mirador de San Nicolás
Plan a summer day →🍂 Autumn
RecommendedSep – Nov
Mild, golden and quiet once the summer crowds leave — the other best window, and usually the better value one.
Pack: mid-weight layers and a light waterproof.
Shines now: Mirador de San Nicolás
Plan a autumn day →❄️ Winter
Dec – Feb
Cold, short days and some seasonal closures, but the lowest prices and the emptiest sights.
Pack: a proper coat, hat and gloves, and shoes that cope with wet streets.
Shines now: Mirador de San Nicolás
