About Bekal Beach
Bekal Beach, also called Pallikkara Beach, runs along the coast right next to Bekal Fort. The sand is backed by coconut palms and a landscaped beach park, and the fort walls rise at the end of the beach, so this is where most people come for the classic view of the ramparts above the sea.
It is a relaxed family beach, busiest in the evenings and at weekends when local visitors come to walk along the shore and watch the sunset. In late December the beach park hosts the Bekal International Beach Festival, with music, dance and food stalls.
