Avoid the trail during the monsoon, when the rocks are slippery.
Swim only in calm conditions and stay away from the rocks.
About Half Moon Beach
Half Moon Beach is a small, curved cove south of Om Beach, backed by trees and closed in by rocky headlands. There is no road to it, so you reach it on foot along the cliff trail from Om Beach or by boat, which keeps it much quieter than Gokarna's busier beaches.
The beach has only a few small shacks and a strip of sand, and it is a good place to rest on the coastal walk towards Paradise Beach. Go in the dry season, carry water, and leave with plenty of daylight for the walk back.
