Stay for sunset, then head back while there is still light on the path.

Expect many cafés to be closed from around June to September.

About Om Beach

Om Beach is Gokarna's best-known beach, named because its two curved bays, joined by a rocky point, look like the Om symbol from above. It is reachable by road, has cafés and water-sport stalls in season, and is a stop on the coastal walk between Kudle and Half Moon beaches.

The sea here can be rough, and people have drowned or been swept off the rocks at Om Beach. Swim only near the lifeguards and between the flags, stay off the rocks at high tide, and never go close to the edge for a selfie. From around June to September swimming is not allowed.
