About Lotus Mahal

Lotus Mahal is a two-storey pavilion inside the Zenana Enclosure in Hampi's Royal Centre. Its arches curve in layers like the petals of a lotus, and it mixes Indo-Islamic arches with a South Indian tiered roof, which makes it one of the most unusual buildings in Hampi.

The pavilion stands on a neat lawn inside high walls, with watchtowers at the corners. The Elephant Stables, a long row of domed chambers, are a short walk away, so the two are usually seen together on one visit to the Royal Centre.
