Best time to visit Jaipur
The best time to visit Jaipur is from October to March, when days are warm and sunny and nights are cool. This is the main season for sightseeing, festivals and shopping, and it is also when the city is busiest.
From April to June, Jaipur is very hot, with midday temperatures often above 40 °C. The monsoon, from July to September, cools things down a little and turns the hills green, but it is humid and showers come and go. The right time for you depends on whether you want the best weather, lower prices or a particular festival.

October and November
The heat eases, the air is clear and the hills are still green after the rains. Diwali usually falls in this period, when the bazaars are lit up and markets stay open late.
December and January
These are the coolest and busiest months. Days are pleasant for long walks, but nights and early mornings can be cold, so pack a warm layer. January brings the Jaipur Literature Festival and kite flying over the old city on Makar Sankranti (14 January).
February and March
The weather warms up but is still comfortable, and crowds start to thin. Holi usually falls in March, and Gangaur processions follow around March or April.
April to June
This is the hottest time of year, with midday temperatures often above 40 °C. Hotels are cheaper and monuments are quieter, but plan sightseeing for early morning and evening and rest through the afternoon.
July to September
The monsoon brings humid days, short heavy showers and green hills around Amber and Nahargarh. Teej is celebrated in July or August. Rain rarely lasts all day, but check the forecast before driving out to the forts.
When Is Jaipur Most Crowded?
Jaipur is busiest from November to February, especially around Christmas and New Year, Diwali and the Jaipur Literature Festival in January. Hotels fill early, and Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal have long queues from mid-morning.
For a quieter trip, visit in October or March, travel on weekdays and reach the big monuments when they open.
