Best time to visit Mount Abu
The best time to visit Mount Abu is from October to March, when the weather is cool, dry and clear for sightseeing. April to June is also popular, as the hills stay far more comfortable than the rest of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
The monsoon from July to September brings heavy rain, mist and green hills. It suits a slow, rainy break more than a sightseeing trip. The right season depends on whether you want clear views, an escape from the heat or fewer crowds.

October and November
The rain has cleared, the hills are still green and the views are often sharp. Crowds rise around Diwali, but otherwise this is one of the most comfortable times to visit.
December to February
These are the coldest months. Days are sunny and pleasant, but nights can drop close to or below freezing, and frost is sometimes seen in the mornings. The Winter Festival at the end of December brings extra crowds.
March
The weather warms up, the skies are clear and the town is quieter than in winter or summer. A good month for relaxed sightseeing.
April to June
This is the summer season, when visitors from the plains come up to escape the heat. Days are warm but pleasant and evenings are cool. Expect the lake, restaurants and roads to be at their busiest in May and June.
July to September
The monsoon brings heavy rain, especially in July and August. The hills turn green and mist rolls over the lake, but views can disappear for hours and paths get slippery. Check road and weather updates before you drive up.
When Is Mount Abu Most Crowded?
Mount Abu is busiest during the summer holidays in May and June, around Diwali, and in the last week of December for Christmas, the Winter Festival and New Year. Long weekends also bring heavy traffic on the hill road from Abu Road.
For a quieter trip, visit in March, early October or on weekdays, and see the busy sights early in the day.
