The garden began in the British years as a botanical garden, and today it is a busy family park with lawns, flower beds, a fountain and a small artificial lake.

Around the garden there are amusement rides, a nursery selling plants and seeds, and stalls for snacks and souvenirs. It is ticketed, with a separate charge for boating.
