About Handi Khoh
Handi Khoh is a steep, horseshoe-shaped ravine near Pachmarhi town, where the cliffs drop about 100 m (300 ft) into thick forest. From the viewpoint at the edge you look straight down into the gorge and across to wooded hills, and it is one of the deepest drops on the plateau.
The name comes from 'handi', a clay pot, after the shape of the valley. Local legend says the ravine was once a lake guarded by an evil serpent, and that when Lord Shiva destroyed the serpent, the lake dried up and left this pot-shaped gorge. Priyadarshini Point, nearby, looks across the same valley, and the two are often combined on one Gypsy trip.
