Best time to visit Pushkar
The best time to visit Pushkar is from October to March, when days are warm and sunny and nights are cool. It is the most comfortable time to walk around the lake, climb to Savitri Mata Temple and explore the bazaar.
November is the most famous month, when the Pushkar Camel Fair and the Kartik Purnima pilgrimage fill the town. April to June is very hot, and July to September brings on-and-off monsoon rain. The right time for you depends on whether you want the fair, pleasant weather or fewer crowds.

October
The heat starts to ease and the monsoon has usually ended. Days can still be hot, but mornings and evenings are pleasant, and the town is calmer before the fair.
November
This is the month of the Pushkar Camel Fair, which ends on Kartik Purnima, the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartik. The weather is pleasant, but the town is at its busiest and rooms book up months ahead.
December to February
The coolest months, with sunny days and cold mornings and nights. This is a great time for sightseeing, sunrise on the ghats and the climb to Savitri Mata Temple. Pack a warm layer for early starts.
March
Days warm up again but are still comfortable. Holi usually falls in March and is celebrated with energy in Pushkar.
April to June
These are the hottest months, often above 40 °C by midday. Sightsee at sunrise and after sunset and rest in the afternoon. Crowds and prices are at their lowest.
July to September
The monsoon brings on-and-off showers, humid heat and greener hills. Rain rarely lasts all day, and the lake is usually fuller after good rains.
When Is Pushkar Most Crowded?
Pushkar is busiest during the camel fair in November, especially in the days around Kartik Purnima, when pilgrims come to bathe in the lake. Christmas, New Year and Holi also bring big crowds, and weekends from Jaipur and Ajmer can be busy through the winter.
For a quieter trip, visit in October, early December or February, and see the ghats at sunrise before the day's visitors arrive.
