About the Brahma Temple
The Brahma Temple, also called Jagatpita Brahma Temple, is the most important temple in Pushkar and one of the very few temples in India dedicated to Lord Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. The present structure dates largely from the 14th century, with later rebuilding. Its red spire rises above the bazaar near the western side of the lake.
Inside, the temple is known for its marble floor with a silver turtle and walls set with coins left by devotees. It is a busy, active place of worship, and pilgrims often come here after bathing in the lake. Phones, cameras and leather items are not allowed inside, so plan your photos from the street and the steps outside.
