About Jogi Mahal
Jogi Mahal is a red-sandstone lodge on the edge of Padam Talao, below the walls of Ranthambore Fort. It was built as a royal hunting lodge and later used as a forest rest house. Today it is one of the most recognisable sights in Ranthambore, and you see it from the safari track rather than from inside.
Beside the lodge stands a huge banyan tree, often described as one of the largest in India, with roots spreading over a wide area. With the lake in front and the fort above, Jogi Mahal is where many visitors take their favourite landscape photo of the reserve.
