About Padam Talao

Padam Talao is the largest lake in Ranthambore National Park. It takes its name from the lotus (padam) that grows on the water, and the red-stone Jogi Mahal stands on its edge, with Ranthambore Fort on the hill above.

The lake is one of the most important water sources in the park, so it draws sambar and spotted deer, wild boar, marsh crocodiles and many water birds. Tigers also come here to drink and hunt, especially in the hot months, which makes Padam Talao one of the best places in the reserve for a sighting.
