About Bagore ki Haveli

Bagore ki Haveli stands on the edge of Lake Pichola at Gangaur Ghat, a short walk from Jagdish Temple. It was built in the 18th century by a prime minister of Mewar and later became home to members of the royal family. Today it is a museum with more than a hundred rooms, painted walls, courtyards, balconies and glass work, and displays of costumes, puppets and everyday objects from royal life.

Most visitors know it for the Dharohar folk-dance show, held in a courtyard of the haveli every evening. The show brings together Rajasthani dances, music and puppets, and it is one of the easiest ways to see traditional performances in Udaipur. By day, the arched windows on the upper floors frame views over the water.
