What's on in Granada

Upcoming festivals, fairs and events in Granada — plan your visit around them, then check the best time to visit.

Nothing dated is confirmed for Granada right now, so here is the year instead — the fixtures that come round annually, and what each one means for a visit.

The year in Granada

Granada packs most of its outdoor calendar into the milder months; the peak of summer is hot enough that anything held outdoors moves to the evening or does not happen at all. Broadly, Mar – May and Sep – Nov is when visiting is most comfortable here, and that is when the calendar is busiest — which also means accommodation is most expensive and books furthest ahead.

Most of these follow lunar calendars and move by weeks from year to year, so treat the windows below as the season rather than the date, and confirm the year’s dates before you book around one.

Nationwide

Semana Santa

🗓️ March–April (Holy Week; moves with Easter)

Nightly processions of hooded brotherhoods carrying immense floats, through the small hours. In Andalucía it is the defining week of the year rather than a church event people attend.

Reyes Magos (Three Kings)

🗓️ 5–6 January

The night children get their presents, marked by a cavalcade throwing sweets to the crowd. Bigger than Christmas Day in most of Spain.

Corpus Christi

🗓️ May–June

A religious procession through streets strewn with rosemary and decorated with awnings and altars.
