About Nawal Sagar
Nawal Sagar is a large man-made lake in the heart of Bundi, just below the Garh Palace and Taragarh Fort. On a calm day, the whole hillside, from the fort walls to the palace terraces, is reflected in the water, which makes it the town's classic view.
In the middle of the lake stands a small temple to Varuna, the god of water, partly under water. The lake fills after the monsoon and is also where Bundi's Kajli Teej procession begins. It is an easy place to end a day of sightseeing, with rooftop cafés nearby looking out over the water.
