About Dudhsagar Falls
Dudhsagar Falls drops about 310 m down a forested cliff on the Goa–Karnataka border, inside the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary. Its name means "sea of milk", from the white spray the water makes as it falls in several tiers. A railway line crosses the face of the falls, and a train passing in front of the water is one of Goa's best-known views.
The official way to reach the falls is by the forest department's jeep safari from Collem (Kulem), which runs through the sanctuary to a short walk from the base. The safari is closed during the monsoon and usually runs from about October to May. Walking along the railway track to the falls is banned and dangerous, and people have died doing it.
Swimming at the base pool is only allowed when it is open and with a life jacket, which is compulsory. Check current access before you go, as rules and dates change each season.
