The town's seafront

The Rock Garden
At the southern end, beside Chivla beach, the Rock Garden is a small public park built on the dark rocks at the water's edge. It has paths, benches and lawns, and it faces west over the sea. That makes it Malvan's favourite place for sunset. The park is usually open in the early morning and again from late afternoon into the evening, and there is no ticket.
Chivla beach
Right next to the Rock Garden, Chivla is a quieter, cleaner stretch of sand. It is good for an evening walk, and shallow in parts.
The jetty
The jetty is the base for the fort boats and some snorkelling trips. It is busy and noisy in the morning. Ticket counters and boat agents are nearby. If you want to photograph the fishing boats, go early and ask before pointing your camera at people.
Safety
The rocks are slippery, and big waves break over them in rough weather. Stay back from the edge, especially from June to September.
