About Goenka Double Haveli

The Goenka Double Haveli is one of the best-known painted mansions in Mandawa. As the name suggests, it is really two havelis joined together, with two gateways side by side. Its front is covered in large paintings of elephants and horses, along with smaller scenes of Rajasthani women, religious images and Europeans in hats.

The haveli sits in the heart of the old town, close to Murmuria Haveli and the Thakurji Temple, so it is easy to see all three on one walk. The frescoes on the front have been restored, which makes the colours brighter than on many other havelis in town. Visitors can usually go inside for a small fee paid to the caretaker.
