Local tips
There are two Ho Chi Minh sites in Thailand and the internet mixes them up constantly. The famous house at Ban Na Chok is in Nakhon Phanom, 250 km away. This is the Udon Thani memorial, at Nong On, and it is the one on the ground where he actually organised.
He was here in 1928–29, working among the Vietnamese communities of the north-east to build an anti-colonial movement, and living as a labourer and teacher. Almost no foreign visitor to Thailand knows this happened.
It is maintained partly with Vietnamese support and is a site of official friendship between the two countries, which is visible in how it is presented. Read it as that rather than as a neutral museum.
Pair it with lunch in Udon's Vietnamese restaurants, which is the living half of the same history.

📸 The shot
Museums are indoor-light problems - check the photography policy at the desk first, and raise ISO rather than using flash.
The frame to set up first is the one this guide's angle row describes - the replica timber house through the fruit trees planted around it, rather than the monument, which photographs as a monument - and everything else is a variation on it.
🕒 When the light is right
The light window is the short version in the timing row: morning, when the light is on the replica house and its garden — the museum interior is a display space and photography of it adds little. Build the visit around it rather than around the clock.
Crowds run low here - you can work a frame slowly, wait for it to empty completely, and move around for a second version.
👕 What to wear
The colours that work here do so for a reason - cream photographs softer than white and suits heritage backdrops; and white keeps a frame clean even when the background is busy. Keep a person in at least one frame - scale is what makes architecture and landscape read.
